I'm 71 and Romper Room was one of my favorite shows as a child. Yes, please never hesitate to share all that you do with your quilts, they are very inspiring!!
Thanks for reminding us to just "pivot" when life happens, because it will. What a beautiful memory quilt. I lost my daughter in law a few years back and seeing this quilt makes me think it would be good to do one for each of her 5 children. I for one am always ready to watch any and all parts to making a quilt and I think machine quilting is interesting. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.

Beautiful quilt❤! Omgosh, prayer and hugs to this family, my 3 yr old daughter was murdered April 19th 1995...this quilt has me teared up. What a Blessing with Beautiful memories of this handsome young man.❤❤🙏😪 your such a Blessing in so many ways.

I’m 47 and remember romper room💕I’m surprised that you left a raw edge? Will it not come unravelled and fray? I’ve never bound a quilt with cuddle / Minkie fabric before. Memorial quilts are so special and helpful to those grieving. Thankful for you being safe and that things all have worked out. Hope you enjoyed your trip.🇨🇦

We had Romper Room here in Australia too. My heart goes out to you as I can truly relate to your traumas. The comment people make about your computerised long arm quilter ie "it practically does it by itself" say a similar thing when I mention that I use an embroidery machine. If they only knew .... Thank you for sharing the good and the bad. ❤🇦🇺❤

I can't believe how calm you are. I would be a complete mess. I really love the quilt. I don't think I could do that. I lost my grown son just before COVID shut everything down. I hope you send lots of pictures of your trip. . Wish I could be there too. Take care and be safe.

Of course I remember Captain Kangaroo and Romper Room! Always waited forHobo Kelly to call my name from behind the magic mirror, but she never did. LOL.
You are so right, my daughter just twisted her ankle in her kitchen and broke it in 3 places and is in the hospital and had ne surgery, and has to wait till swelling goes down and another one probably on Friday. She has an old dog that is 16 and walks her twice a day and puts her in a cart some. She worries about her, she feeds her special cooked healthy food. She said don't be in a hurry be careful life can change in a minute. So true.

Real life happens. There are many sayings but I totally understand crazy days, weeks, years. Go with the flow.
I have had that flexible sewing machine light and love it. Mine cane with 2 holders so it can be used on 2 different machines which is perfect for me. As I get older, I need better lighting, especially at retreats or on vacation. Highly recommend it.
The memory photo quilt was beautiful.
The accident was unfortunate but you got repairs and should now be enjoying your time with April.

Thank you for showing the long arming work on the green quilt. Amazing how many different ways you can quilt, besides the tried and true overall (which I always get). My long armer, Linda, allows Cuddle, or Minky backing, but she doesn't love working with it. Btw, ❤ the quilting patterns and "extra" on the border- yeah, I teared up too. Oh- used your link & discount code to buy 3 of the little lights- for me and two quilty buddies (Christmas). ❤ this video!!

I made a Nancy Halverson quilt. I hand button hold stitched the entire quilt. When I took it to my quilter, I asked her to quilt it using a monofilament thread on top and bottom. She was reluctant but I assured her it would turn out great. She tested an area and used a diamond motif to stitch it. It turned out stunning and did not take away from my button hold stitching or the design. I suggest you try it on say a pillow to see what you think. I love the quilt and each design on the 12 blocks do not show any quilting. The monofilament looks fabulous. Just a suggestion.
I think it would look great on a picture or T-shirt quilt.
I use monofilament for my appliqué and really like it. Not sure how it would work in my long arm, but I’ll try it.😊♥️🐥

I'm sorry you're having a week but the timing of this video is PERFECT! I'm having one too. I'm a high school math teacher (don't hate) and the 1st week of vacation my exhaust went caput on the thruway while headed to camp, I broke my toe with the cellar door, and almost cut off the whole tip of my finger with pruning shears! Goodness, you've had a time! I hope July is boring in comparison, except for lots of good things!! I got a light like yours a few months ago and can finally see things I was struggling with, like hera marks on busy fabric and the edge of dark binding that matches the quilt border! It didn't take me long to discover that I could use it when I cleaned my machine instead of kicking the foot pedal out of reach (hopefully) and leave the machine on so I could use the light to see into the dark depths to clean my machine. Whew, the safety inspector would approve! Romper Room, yes lots of people are that old! :oD Hope you are both completely healthy by now and that your trip was amazing!
